Listening to conversational Frisian, I can't help but notice how similar the phonology sounds to certain regional British dialects of England, and particularly Scots. While I can't understand more than a couple of words, the sound of the language sounds very similar to Scots. Listen to this link:
And.. To be frank, If I hadn't known that it is frisian, I would still say it's simply dutch. However, sometimes in pronunciation it resembles English.. maybe not British but some dialect of English.. logically thinking it would be Scots. It's all a matter of opinion really. On paper, Frisian seems many, many times more like Dutch than any Anglic variety, but in spoken form, its phonology is rather similar to the Anglic languages, particularly Scots, at least to my ears.
