I hate to say it, but I have to avoid most of the picture-heavy threads, because people pick photos that are just honking enormous! You have no idea how many minutes it takes to download those suckers when there's a whole page of 'em -- half the time my computer times out and fails about halfway through. The rest of the time, we're talking bathroom break and maybe wandering off to make a sandwich while they load....

Remember that one time, when Yann had an automatic resizing feature? It did something bad that made him have to abandon it after a while, but while it was working, it was wonderful -- if you wanted to see it full-size, you just had to click on it -- otherwise you got a decent-sized version of each pic that loaded very quickly. I wish there was a way we could try a similar feature on here. Any thoughts?

I've fast ADSL so for me the speed to download's not a problem, but I think for the people who've very slow internet it would be better having small pictures. Also, it's very annoying when a picture is very wide and make the writing also to go away from the screen, so it's necessary look far to the left then far to the right.

But, I don't know how to change the size of a picture of what you make the pasting of the properties. Maybe shouga will know?

I often go to the toilet or do something whilst image-heavy threads are loading, because I use dial-up as well. Seriously people, it takes ages.

Yeah, but it would involve installing a mod. And I'm not even sure if you can install mods on myfreeforum. And I'm not an administrator.

It seems the best solution for now is that people post links to large pictures, rather than the pictures itself.

Or you all can save the large images to your hard drive, then upload it to the internal myff image gallery by clicking "Attach File" when you post. But here's the important step: make sure to click on the box labeled, "Post as thumbnail". The image will show up like this:

Click to see full size image

Please do this for Uriel's sake!

And while you're doing it for Uriel's sake, make it a nude MALE body!

I'm disappointed, Julian -- I thought it was going to be a joke, something like getting a huge, scary monster with a loud scream when you enlarged the picture.

I would like to have this giant tortoise on my avatar, but he's too giant !!

Please can you make him to be smaller? he's now about 200 x 300 Kb so the difference wouldn't be much.

Thank you
