With gas prices so high these days, my bf and I decided that this (past) Memorial Day weekend we'd check out places around the LA area that we've never bothered to visit. He suggested the Japanese Garden over out yonder in Van Nuys (in the SF VALLEY!) and I was like, "Uh... okay.."

He was especially excited about going b/c that's where Starfleet Command Headquarters is located.

So we went, and lo and behold I was absolutely gobsmacked that this beautiful jewel has been out here for ages w/o me knowing about it. Anyway, minus the tall buildings and Golden Gate Bridge in the background, this is what Starfleet Command looks like in reality:

This garden is marvelously beautiful. A funny thing I noticed on your first picture. There are even people who wear the starfleet uniform

I recognised it because I'm a Star trek fan.
