Nederlands Deutsch English
een ein one
twee zwei two
drie drei three
vier vier four
vijf funf five
zes sechs six
zeven sieben seven
acht acht eight
negen neun nine
tien zehn ten
elf elf eleven
twaalf zwolf twelve
dertien dreizehn thirteen
veertien vierzehn fourteen
vijftien funfzehn fifteen
Now, taking into account the pronounciation of these words, would you say the Dutch numbers are more similar to the German ones or the English ones? To me, they are right in-between.
I don't know the numbers in Afrikaans, but if Andre would provide them for us that would be fantabulous. And if anyone has them in Frisian, Scots, and Low Saxon that would be great too.

I always tend to feel Dutch as quite in-between German and English.
concerning those number, some seems to me closer to german, other closer to English, and some in the exact middle. |

The pronounciation of most numbers in English, Dutch and German is quite different. Some numbers share writing, while others share the way they are pronounced. I'd indeed say that Dutch is inbetween German and English. _________________ My site: http://www.AntonKemmeren.com |

Né /eːn/ — Al /aɪ̯ns/ — An /wʌn/.
Ça commence mal ! À part le /n/, aucun son en commun... |
