This game is sort of similar to the photos of cities game, but this time we'll list names of main streets, squares, parks, monuments in cities and the rest of us with try to work out which city they refer to — without cheating, of course!

I'll start:

Princess Street
George Street
Queen Street
Charlotte Square
St Andrew's Square
Leith Walk
Calton Hill
The Royal Mile
Holyrood Park
Waverley Steps
Lothian Road

As in "where else would Benjamin choose"?

Aye. Or rather, where else would I choose first that wouldn't be so obscure that no-one would guess it.

I suppose St Andrew's Square as well as Holyrood Park were dead give aways.

Alright, I'd have a go as well. I'd drop a big clue by saying that the city is one which I've been to before.

1. Queen Street
2. Boat Quay
3. Holland Road
4. Cantonment Road
5. Connaught Drive
6. Princess Margaret Drive
7. Victoria Street
8. Stamford Road
9. Orchard Road
10. McCallum Street

For me it was "Lothian" that made me think of Scotland, as well as St. Andrew's.

Uriel: Actually, it's Singapore

Fab: Is this a trick question? Most respectable-sized communes in France would probably have all of these adresses within their jurisdictions.

Yes its Singapore. Orchard Walk is the shopping strip.

OK here's one for you. Somehow I don't think anyone will get this (so I will allow snooping on the net):

Victoria Square
Hindmarsh Square
Whitmore Square
Hurtle Square
Light Square
North Terrace
South Terrace
East Terrace
West Terrace
Rundle Mall
Rundle St
King William Road
Grenfell Street

Yes, absolutly, that's just why I posted them.  I find it funny that streets and places names in each country are generally the same in most cities.

It is funny — like how almost every town and city in Scotland seems to have a Union Street — Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Dundee, Inverness, Stirling, Perth, St Andrews, Dunfermline, Kirkcaldy, Paisley, Greenock, Dumfries... practically every place I type in to Google Maps. Actually, on the wall underneath the Union Street sign in St Andrews, someone has recently chalked Soon Independence Street.

But it's much more fun to guess.  Here's a totally uneducated guess:  Melbourne.

In "Horrible Towns" you mentioned South Australia, so is it a city/town in SA?

This should be an (relatively) easy one:

Vermont Avenue
New Hampshire Avenue
Normandie Avenue
Harvard Boulevard
Oxford Avenue
Nottingham Avenue
Lexington Avenue
Gramercy Place
Talmadge Street
Fountain Avenue
Franklin Avenue
Berendo Street
Vine Street
Yucca Street
Sycamore Street
L. Ron Hubbard Way

Rio: Not Orchard Walk, but Orchard Road. Come to think of it, the only streets which end with a walk in Singapore is probably the regal sounding Queen Elizabeth II Walk which is really just a riverside promenade.

Ok, I'd venture a guess and say it's probably erm....Alice Springs?

Fab: Can I guess it's Paris then? But really, General de Gaulle is ubiquitous. One sees his legacy everywhere in France.

Elaine: Is it Washington DC?

I can be. Actually I was joking putting randomly names that generally exist in most french cities, even small ones.  Those names may be found (I didn't had checked for all though) in Paris, Toulouse, Marseille, Nice, Lille, or Lyon...
