Just started to hail here... Earlier this week we almost had summer, then it turned cold again.
It's eh... mostly dark outside right now. But we've had everything this week, from splendid sunshine to nasty rainfall. Aahh.. come mi piace Olanda! :faroah: _________________ Haud aequum facit, qui, quod didicit, id dediscit.
The hail has stopped, and now we're having a wonderful lovely thunderstorm... which we don't normally have this time of the year... :?
I haven't been outside since Monday (I have back spasms and can hardly move. Stress sucks, eh? :x ) but it looks nice and sunny. The skyline looks unusually clear for this time of year. Normally, it's hazy and humid in August
We had four seasons in one week. It started out hot, then we had hail, it turned cold, we had rain, and now it's just nicely warm.
E quali lingue parli tu? :) Hmmm, lo leggerò domani: adesso vado a dormire. Ciao ciao! _________________ Haud aequum facit, qui, quod didicit, id dediscit.

Dminor, I studied several languages at school and in college (French, Italian and 1 year of German), but I can't say I actually speak any of them, thanks partly to the way languages were taught in public schools here in the '60s, but mainly because I wasn't a diligent student. As an adult I studied Russian for a few years, but it's really only in Spanish (which I started studying in April '05) that I expect to become fluent. That's because I'm actually motivated and because I'm taking an immersion course, finally!
Oh, and I took a class in Arabic for one semester but I didn't care for the teacher and thought the class was pretty much a waste of time, so I dropped it.
But some more cold has been predicted....
I thought summer was gone but it's not! Today we had 19 C and it's been a lovely sunny day. :)
17 C here today and sunny, but a coolish, though slight, wind here. So it was great indoors, somewhat cold outside.
I was wondering, at what point do you start considering it HOT!? For us, 19 and 21,6 is a bit chilly. At about 23, 24 we start taking off our jerseys....

Well, it's different for everyone, but I start feeling uncomfortably warm at about 26C, and chilly when it dips below 18C :?

26 C is lovely! When it gets around 32, 33, it's still acceptable... 36, 37, it starts getting HOT... And you're right, it's different for everyone.

Unless I'm doing my conversions wrong...
I'd say the same. Just about, anyway. 26C is definitely very warm. It's okay if you're not doing anything but if you're going out do to whatever, or if you're working, it's not necessarily that much fun.

I agree with Joanne -- 21.6C/70.8F is lovely, provided it's not windy. And if you're in the NYC metro area, where summers are mostly very hot and muggy, 21.6C would be a most refreshing change. But my ideal temperature is 73F/22.7C.

Out of curiosity, is 'Ernesto' pronounced without the 's'?
I suppose there's nothing to report about my weather conditions. It's lovely; it's fine; it's sunny; it's raining. But then, I am not feeling under the weather - I am perfectly comfortable with a temperature range of 24-32 degrees Celcius.
Anything above 32 and I'll report sick for potential injuries, such a nasty malingerer I am...... _________________ Hillary Clinton is an acquired taste which I have clearly yet to acquire.

Many Caribbean countries have a tendency to drop their s's when they speak Spanish, so I imagine Ernesto acquired the local lingo when he was down there. However, when he made his final landfall in North Carolina, we gringos stubbornly pronounced all the letters in his name, and insisted Ernesto do the same. "Fit in or leave!" we told him. So he left, and now it's a beautiful, sunny, 75F/24C day ;-P
