Death & TaxesFor most of us taxpaying Americans, April 15 is the deadline for filing our income tax returns. So... have you done your taxes? What the hell are you waiting for? 
I'm curious to know how and when this is done in other countries, if at all?
This year, good ol' Uncle Sam will be doling out economic stimulus rebates to qualifying filers ($600 and up). Okay...

I did my taxes earlier than I've ever done them before, because I really needed to get that refund. I got a pretty hefty one because the money I got from my severance package when I was laid off was very heavily taxed. I also didn't even have to make much effort to do my state income tax return. Since I only had wages to report and wasn't taking any deductions, I got a notice that my form had already been done online for me and all I had to do was look at it and approve it. A week later, the refund was in my bank!

I've never filed my tax return before, but since I might become a ta accountant, I do know for a fact that our return dateline is also 15 April for all taxpayer save for companies as the latter are allowed to file their return by 30 June.

Got my federal tax refund! And the first thing I'm going to do with the money is get a shiatsu massage, seaweed wrap, and hot stone facial. Why not pamper myself?  Then I'm going to buy a new pair of shoes or several.

It's all the freelance work I do, they deduct way to little tax for that, so I have to cough up at the end of the financial year. But I've found a solution, so this year should be the last I have to pay in....

Still waiting for my state and federal refunds and my stimulus package (that cracks me up -- if you wanna stimulate me, how about 10 grand or so? What's with this piddly little $600 business?).

I went and got the massage, seaweed body wrap and guess what I discovered... I'm allergic to seaweed! The treatment was supposed to detoxify my body and keep my skin fresh and supple, but I ended up breaking out in hives! Thank god the redness and swelling went down by Sunday evening, otherwise, I would've had to call in sick today.
