Earthquake shook China

I think one pic is enough. Ladies and gentlemen, I am not here to inform you of the latest death toll. I am here to ask you to do something for them. The situation is very severe, prayers and blessings are certainly needed and appreciated, but I'm sure we can do more than that. It has been raining heavily since the earthquake happened, and almost all roads to the most severely damaged areas have been blocked by rocks as large as cars and houses, over 50000 soldiers have been deployed and 4500 PLA(People's Liberation Army) parachuters have signed their wills and vowed to complete a very risky, somewhat suicidal mission requiring them to land on the mountinous devastated area. Dear friends, they are doing their duty, could you do your best?

I ask you, my dear forumites, a favor. I ask you to think about what practical help you can offer. I ask you to forward this post through email, fax, fliers, to as many people as possible. I ask you to ask them the same big favor as I do you. Thank you. God bless them and God bless you.
Elaine

I guess the first thing those of us who live 1000s of miles away can do is to contribute whatever monetary amount we can afford to reputable non-profit organizations.  For US residents like me, the American Red Cross is a good place to start (which I've already done).

Other organizations I'd recommend is Mercy Corps and Half the Sky Foundation, which is an organization that provides love and care to the orphans of China.

Thank you Elaine. You are beautiful both within and without.  Thank you.
