Elaine

Does anybody know anything about her? She hasn't been around in ages...
Uriel

Perhaps she's just gone due to the holidays.
André in Zuid-Afrika

She hasn't posted since 6 December, and I don't recall her saying she's going away for such a long time.
patriccke

She hasn't got an internet connection at home. Maybe she's out of office. Or maybe they've blocked the access to the forums???
André in Zuid-Afrika

I'm seriously getting worried about Elaine now.
greg in noord-frankrijk

Does anyone in California know something about Elaine ?

I've e-mailed Julian now, maybe he knows.
Loic

What about our Swedish connection? He has also vanished into thin air since this rather saucy Yuletide greetings.

Walker, if you're skulking noiselessly around, do pop in to say hi, wouldn't you?

PS: I hope Sander would also seriously return.

Hello! I have been sneaking around from time to time, skimming through some of your posts, but I haven't had the time to do much else here. In a couple of weeks I might just have an internet connection again. And I'm looking forward to it! Christmas and New Year was great and I hope you had a good time too!
Pauline

For register on this forum you must write down your email address - havn't you Elaine's email address ? You can write her a mail.
Deborah

Glad to know you're still around, Walker.

Thanks, Deborah!
Elaine

Hello my lovelies!

I just wanted to drop in, say hello, wish you all a happy new year, and to remind you that I exist! Unfortunately, I have to leave you for a little while longer while I battle a pesky little problem that's begun to "spiral out of control" (as my physician puts it). Wish me luck!

Deborah

Oh, no, Elaine! We don't want you to have any problems! But it's good to hear from you again, and yes -- I definitely wish you good luck!!!
Loic

Don't worry. We have never forgotten you and never would. All the best in battling your 'pesky little problem'.
Uriel

Good luck, and don't let the bill give you a pesky little coronary!
greg in noord-frankrijk

Good luck Elaine and thank you for your time !
Walker

Lycka till, Elaine! Bli frisk snart!
Joanne

Thanks for letting us know you're all right, Elaine. Now, save up your energy and get healthy again! Good luck

Elaine

Thank you for the warm wishes, y'all!
Deborah

Hey, Elaine --

Now that you're back (nice to have you back), are you feeling better?
Deborah

So, Elaine, are you going through an identity crisis? Three avatars in two days, is it?
Elaine

I just don't know who I am anymore... like a little girl lost... like Britney.

Pobrecita.

Well, I liked the previous two avatars, but I was afraid some people wouldn't get my sense humor, so I decided on something that best captures my current position here as Super Moderator. Although, thankfully, I haven't had the need to use my pistol... yet.

Well, since I've got my very own thread here, I might as well talk about me.

I've gained 4 lbs since my brief <s>incarceration</s> stay at, um, a retreat in San Diego, and I've kept it on without getting all hung up about it. My therapist says I'm making progress, so high five, people! Show me some love.

Walker

That's great, Elaine! High five - smack! And here's some love for you.

Deborah

Alright, Elaine!! High five! Sm... damn! I missed. I'm not used to doing those. Congratulations, and keep up the good work! (If it's weight you want, I'll be happy to send you some -- I've plenty to spare.)
Elaine

Thank you, dahlings!

Weeeell, it's not that I want the weight, but I'm told that I need it to get healthy.

4 lb is nothing! I hope you do not count your calories!

But it's excellent that you are no longer tormented by the thought of a weight gain. So a high five back for you, Elaine!

Elaine,
I'll be brief: I am happy you are on this forum again and you are doing better!
Elaine

I avoid counting calories (or measuring portions) by simply not eating.

Whenever I'm in Belgium (I often travel to Brussels) I have la mousse au chocolat after dinner. It's so delicious! Your chocolate is one of the most famous in the world so I believe that the cake you ate must have also been superbe!

I was just kidding. I do eat. Why today I even had a fig newton and spinach salad.
André in Zuid-Afrika

Spinach? That'll never do! What you need are some koeksisters!!

André in Zuid-Afrika

And/or some melktert...

Elaine

What's wrong with spinach?

Those look delicious, André. Maybe you should drop by and teach me how to make them.

Spinach was created with the sole purpose of torturing me... I HATE it, yech!!!!!

Milk tart is easy, but koeksisters take some expertise....

No, it's not....

It causes all kinds of illnesses, like... like... like... I don't know, but it does!!
Deborah

I liked spinach even before I became a vegetarian, but during my vegetarian phase (approx. 25 years) I ate a lot of it, since it's an excellent source of certain vitamins and minerals that you could lack by not eating meat.
Elaine

I was just assaulted by a crazy homeless woman right outside my workplace. I was coming in to work with my Starbucks coffee in hand, and was reaching for the door when a homeless woman approached and asked me for change. I apologized and told her I had no change and suddenly she slapped me and called me a lying bitch. I was stunned. I called the security guard over and he gave chase, but the woman disappeared. How fucked up is that??
Walker

She slapped you?? That is very fucked up! Hope you're not too shaken up...
Deborah

That must have been very upsetting.

You need to grow 6 inches -- that sort of thing will never happen to you.
Elaine

Goodness, news travels fast here at work! Not 30 minutes into the work schedule and everybody knew about the incident. My girls in the secretarial pool were like, "Girl, why didn't you throwdown and pull out her weave?" First of all, I don't think a homeless person would be wearing a weave, and second, to be perfectly honest when the woman hit me, some coffee spilled out of the cup and my main concern was not ruining my Luciano Padovan suede pumps. I can be such a girl.

But anyway, yes it was very upsetting, but I'm okay now.

Funny how that is -- many years ago, when I got punched in the nose by a guy suffering from road rage, almost my first thought was keeping the blood from getting on my coat. I think most people would react that way, though.

(This would seem to negate my earlier statement about nothing like this happening to tall people, but I was sitting down in the car, so the guy couldn't see how tall I was. And that's the only time anyone ever physically attacked me.)
Elaine

A guy punched you in the nose?? That's awful! Did he get away with it or did you let him have it?
Deborah

Elaine wrote:

I was too busy trying to keep the blood off my coat to let him have it. Or did you mean later, in court? Anyway, it's too long a story to go into, but he got off scot free (where did that expression come from, I wonder?) and I got an operation to restore my schnoz to its former glory.

Agghh! " alt="" border="0" /> That's fucking terrible! Well, she didn't scratch or poke you with anything, because you said you're okay, so that's good!

It can happen everywhere. I remember when I was in Belgium and at the railway station in the city of Antwerpen a homeless guy asked me (in Flemish) for change. I found that pretending I didn't understand him (of course I didn't but still I could make out what he was asking for) would be much better excuse than saying that I hadn't got any change. So I told him: 'I'm sorry, I don't speak Flemish'. How surprised I was when this highly uneducated-looking guy replied in English: 'OK, so do you have any change?'.
Elaine

Joanne wrote:

No she didn't scratch or poke me, TG! Nor did her slap leave a nasty bruise, it was only red and stingy for several minutes. But today my relations with the homeless has improved considerably. While walking to lunch, a homeless guy who I've seen around these parts many times before serenaded me with a doo-wop rendition of "Georgia on my mind" and he sounded fantastic! So I gave him a fie dolla bill.
Walker

Elaine! Does anybody know where that girl is at?
