FacebookOpinions on Facebook please?
Just curious. How many of you use it? I don't have an account myself but of course know a few people who seem to live through it and want to create this alluring/flattering image of themeselves...
Do you believe that an employer or prospective employer has a right to look up someone's profile?
What about privacy issues or exhibitionism?

I opened an account, with very limited info, only because some friends of mine did, and insisted that I do too, (they should've known better) and then almost immediately lost interest.

Most certainly not. My private life is exaxtly that, my private life.

I also have a Facebook account, but only to keep up with friends and family who are very far away from me. Also had a Friendster account, but setting it up was irritating, so I closed it almost as soon as I opened it.
I've never had issues with privacy and unsavory people looking at my Facebook or Friendster profiles, since the first thing I fudge with when opening those accounts are my privacy settings. No one sees my profile unless I approve

I like to read opinions of people on Facebook in groups about subjects i'm interested in. For example I also found two persons there who have same interest as me in Swedish language.

I have a Facebook account, but I initially considered it as a newfangled social networking tool. Like Andre, a friend convinced me to apply for an account.
And like Joanne, I restricted public access to my account so that only friends would be able to say, take a look at the photo albums. In Facebook, you are allowed to simply wander into anybody's profile page if he is in the same network as you are and if he did not restrict public access at all.
