Frisian with English orthography

Some people mentioned that they have seen Frisian with English phonetic spelling, and were amazed at the similarities. I would absolutely love to see this myself. If any of you know of where I can find it, please post a link. It would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much in advance.

I was the one who mentioned it, I have a linguistic book with a few examples I'll see what I can do.

It says a Northern English or Scotish accent will make them sound even closer to West Frisian.

Frisian - Eng/ian - English
goed - goot (rhymes with "koot") - good
min - mean - bad
ferrotte - furrotte (e = Schwa) - rotten
rūn - ruin - round
āld - eld - old
wiet - weet (rhymes with "beet") - wet
fier - fear - far
en - an - and
Pauline

sander,

have you, for exemple, a paragraph of frisian in the english orthography ? It would be easier to compare that when it's a list of words. Then we can see the grammar also - word order especially (or maybe you know if this is the same than dutch ?)

I suggest you learn English orthography and word order first, then we'll see about Frisian.

I agree with Pauline. We were hoping for a paragraph of written text with English orthography.

Are we going to be getting those any time soon Sander? Or maybe you could just direct us to somewhere on the web.

My book doesn't contain full texts, and I can't seem to find them on the web.

Pauline, your English is perfectly understandable. I actually think that it is very good, considering that you haven't been learning it for very long.

Well, let's look for Frisian text in English orthography together. Meanwhile, could somebody provide a few links of Frisian in conversational form please?
