That might sound funny, but most experts claim that the average dog can have a vocabulary of upwards of 10-20 words. I have a rottie, so being that he is a German breed, I decided I would also train him in English. So, he understands commands in English and German, and recently, I've taken to commanding him in Spanish. He's not responding to the Spanish commands, because they sound entirely different from the English and German ones, and I don't think he ever will learn the commands in Spanish, because he is 8 years old now.

They've taught rats to differentiate between Japanese and Dutch I'm sure that dog of yours will manage Spanish.
