What Artist, which song Do You Prefer? In what language?
Do You Prefer Contemporary or Traditional Music?
What kind of music do you prefer listening to?
Do you prefer the type of music with a hidden meaning that you have to decipher, or do you like the kind of music that tells you straight out what the song is about?
Elaine
I listen to a lot of different types of music, from classic rock to alternative to jazz to house and techno (at times) to blues to ranchera, etc. I can't really get into this whiny emo music, and I absolutely detest the drivel they play on pop music stations. Give me some Zeppelin, Stones, AC/DC, Metallica, and G&R any day!
Lately I've been listening to the Verve box set, which is a collection of jazz standards sung my jazz greats, remixed and ready for the dance clubs.
As for whether I prefer my music with hidden meaning or not, I'll have to say no. I'm a simple gal really, and when i wanna rock I don't want to have to overly think about it.
Irrintzi

I listen to a lot of different kinds of music. A few types of music that I listen to but aren't included below would be jazz, film music, classical music and klezmer. I should also mention that I've been listening some to that Ruben Blades record that my brother accidentally left in my apartment last time he was here a few months ago. Some kinds of "music" I cannot stand, like dansband (country western-influenced Swedish music) and techno. You're subjected to a lot of music of which much is crap. But thank goodness there is good music out there.
Here are a few examples:
Primus.
Robi Draco Rosa.
Smashing Pumpkins.
Candiria.
Deftones.
Zero7.
Langhorns.
Yelina
I'm a rather ecclectic girl so I can listen to many kinds of music. I must say it depends on my mood and my company.
It's not finished, but I can't show every kind of music I listen to...

A cult Punk band, Bérurier Noir were loved by a generation of youth and feared by concert organisers for the riots that followed their shows.
Tryo-L'hymne de nos campagnes:A Hymn for our earth, yes, it would be necessary to think of little of our planet which suffers and a little make open eyes, stupid music?

I'm not a jazz specialist either. I only know of Serge (but I listen to his daughter's music).

Yep, he's something else! I think Clandestino is the only album of his that I've heard. I recall my sister listening to Bongo Bong all the time...
Here's New Noise, by Refused. I used to listen to them a lot. I saw them live once here in my hometown.

I think Irrintzi may have thought that your use of the impersonal "you" was directed at him:

(It was impersonal, right?)

Oh... no, no, it sure wasn't. I only meant that there is a lot of bad music out there.

Yes, most definitely. Thanks for clearing that up!
Irrintzi
Ouch , in this case sorry Walker, forgive me....It was a lack of understanding
Thank you Deborah.
I shall pay more attention the next time!
Deborah
Well, actually, when I first read it, I also thought he was talking about you, Irrintzi (just for a few seconds, though).
