Robbie Williams

What you think of Robbie Williams ?

He's told some very interesting things in his interview about his song Madonna. What's your opinion of this interview ?

I *love* Robbie Williams and his music. I've asked for his CD " Rudebox " for my birthday present.
Loic

A very good crooner. I used to really like his rendition of Rock DJ back when I was still in formal education. Does anyone here remember the MTV? It consisted of Robbie Williams doing some rude thrusting with his hips as tartily-dressed girls roller-skated around him.

I have an album of Robbie Williams's Swing when you are Winning: A medley of old swing classics covered by the great crooner.
Akoni

I like Robbie's music, lots of variation.
Loic

Sander once posted a link to Rood by Marco Borsato. A bit of a deviation here, but do you think he's any good?

I was listening to his other songs but I don't think they were very spectaular. Rood, however, is goooood.

Is that a serious question? I thought Robbie Williams was known pretty much everywhere.
Deborah

I had never heard of him, but that doesn't mean much, as I don't pay attention to pop music anymore. I only know what I hear being played at my gym.
Shouga

Well that's fair enough, as Robbie Williams has never really made it big in America. I don't know where Julian lives, but Robbie Williams is quite large in many places in the world, as far as I know.
Pauline

Here he is famous since some years I think, so I thought that he will be well-known in all the world. Icke wrote that she like very much his song Madonna as well, so he's famous in Germany also.

In his interview, he was wearing a dress and looked as a woman. In the video of the song are many transvestites and I think it's a fun video and beautiful song. In the interview he told he has multiple personalities, but I didn't knew if this would be a joke or true

I like Sugababes as well. Are they famous in your countrys? I will ask for their CD for my birthday too
Shouga

Yeah, Sugababes are well-known here.

This is totally random, but is Icke a woman? For some reason, I always assumed that s/he was a man!
Fredrik

LOL, she only reveals her true sex in the German section. (Not that I'm totally sure either, when I ponder it now.) But Pauline designed this feminine avatar for her:

Omg! I always thought Icke was a man too! lol.

It seems that many famous British or Irish bands never achieved the sort of phenomenal success which they enjoyed elsewhere. I think Westlife is one of those examples.

I know who he is. I was making a bad joke. A few years ago he was on practically every US entertainment magazine, announcing how he was finally going to conquer America with his new record album, "The Ego Has Landed." But I guess the American public wasn't buying into the hype because the album that was supposed to put him on the pop culture radar didn't even crack the Top 50.

This wikipedia article mentions him being known in the US as "that dude who ripped his own skin off" (in the "Rock DJ" video). Yikes!

I've never heard of Westlife. Until she finally hit the US charts with "I Can't Get You Out of My Head," Kylie Minogue (Australian) was another international phenomenon who just couldn't seem to crack the American market, except with that cheesy locomotion song wasy back in the 1980s.

I'm a WOMAN! Remember that!

Does this have something to do with my username? Now when I think about it, it sounds like a name for males (only when pronounced in English), although it is just meant to be the Berlinerisch version of "ich" (= I)

I don't know how everyone got that one wrong, because I've always thought you're female!
Loic

Westlife is an Irish boyband with a mawkish tendency to sing overly saccharine songs that sometimes make your skin crawl. They are very popular in South-east Asia as well, South-east Asia seems to really like love ballads.

That is why Air Supply is still so popular in the region.
