Songs that won't get out of your head !I was listening to the radio the other day and they played 'Rock with you', an early eighties Michael Jackson song. It has been ages since I've last heard this song, now I can't get it out of my head. Damn those eighties
Just relax your mind, lay back and groove with mine
You propably all have had similar situations , so let me hear about them

This example isn't really a song that I can't get out of my head, but just a habit. Whenever I have to walk up a lot of stairs or walk up a long hill (this happens a lot in San Francisco), I get my mind off the monotony by counting my steps. But counting my steps is pretty boring, so instead, I walk in time to tunes that have regular 8-bar phrases, so I can just multiply the number of phrases by whatever meter the song is in.
(This is related to the topic, though, because when I do this on automatic and don't pick a song to think, I invariably end up thinking "Yankee Doodle".)

Yes, I know that feeling. It's like hiccups! I have tried several methods to get rid of it, none of them really works. It will pass away, you just need to be patient

The only effective method I've found for getting rid of hiccups is breathing into a paper bag. I wonder whether that would work for getting a song out of my head?

Funny how it's often songs you don't like which stick...

Christ, all day long I've been singing the chorus to Leather and Lace by Stevie Nicks and Don Henley! I must've heard it on the radio somewhere, although that song would never get played on the station I listen to.
You guys do remember this song, don't you?
Lovers forever... face to face
My city or mountains... stay with me stay
I need you to love me... I need you to stay
Give to me your leather
Take from me... my lace

I have "Do The Strand" by Roxy Music going through my head all time. Its not a bad song though, so I don't mind getting stuck with it.

A song that makes me go towards peace towards relaxation of both my mind and my soul is the song "The Man" by Pete Yorn. I hum it all the time

The only duet worse than that may in fact be "Islands in the Stream" -- Keneny Rogers and Dolly Parton.
I had no idea that was Don Henley. He has a lot to be ashamed of. I'm not sure "Boys of Summer" and "All She Wants to Do is Dance" are going to be enough to cancel that crime out.

I noticed when they broadcast a song so often I have this song in my head. We know they do it because they hope people to buy the CD of the song. At the moment I have this in my head from a new French musical "Cléopatre".
