United 93

Just have seen "United 93" in the cinema...
Breathtaking. I remained speechless for about 5 minutes after the final shot.
BTW, it will be 5th anniversary very soon...

Who could ever forget that day?

Yep, probably like the first man in space or the landing on the moon. Almost everybody (with a TV, radio, internet etc) remember.

By the way, when I saw United 93 I didn't think about 11 September : I thought about Seine-Saint-Denis, a département people call 93 or nine-three due to its zip code.

I travel by plane fairly often and confirm that the way the United 93 passengers talked or behaved (before all this happened) is the same as of any other passengers on plane boards around the world. They were not heroes who just were to prove their heroism and win but quite normal, ordinary people who became heroes but tragically lost...

I saw the film last week and yes it was some film. You couldn't help but keep your hopes up near the end even though you knew how it was going to end. The fact that there were no well-known actors sure raised the level of reality, and there was hardly any music in the film which made it even more "real". Well, there were hardly any well-known actors; I did recognize two guys. When my friend and I walked out of the cinema we mentioned Air Force One with Harrison Ford and laughed. I guess we had to laugh a little.

Did it just come out in theaters for you? Strange...that's kind of late. Europe usually gets our movies a month (at most) after US release. It was in US theaters in March, and it's coming out on DVD this Tuesday. :?

I haven't seen it yet, and I don't think I'll be adding it to my Netflix queue for at least another three months.

Actually I don't know when it came out here, some time this summer I think. I haven't been to the movies very often.

I'm surprised so many of you have seen this flick. It didn't look very appealing to me -- just sort of depressing!

Besides, I already know how it ends.

(Of course, I said the same thing about Titanic...)

It came out last Friday. Maybe they'd been waitng to show it around September 11? And this week "WTC" by O. Stone will be released.

Last month I saw "The hills have eyes" About psychotic creatures attacking a family in the desert in New Mexico, as you probably know...
It's Wes Craven's flick ;-P
Uriel

That was a documentary. Those are my neighbors.

NM has such a double helping of Weird -- the Trinity site, the Taos hum, Roswell, the jackalope, the occasional mutant family....

I remember wondering if there were stills of the opening credits, so I could put them in the "Visioporqueria" thread in the old Langcafe....

Uriel : I'm so happy to see you back ! :D
Uriel

Why, thank you, greg!

Now, if I could just get the site to remember me from post to post..... :x

Now, if I could just get you to read your PM's....
Uriel

Sorry, I didn't know I had any PM's! They didn't pop up automatically when I log in, like they did on the other site -- I had to go looking for them.

Thank you all for your kind welcomes -- I will go ahead and try your suggestion about the cookies, Andre, and I think (as to your second question) that I will be happy to let E and J have all the fun for awhile and take a vacation from responsibility!

You have to set your profile so that PM's appear as pop ups. I can do it for you if you want. :)

Just a reminder to those who recently registered. You can choose your own board style.
Uriel

Okay, let's see if this works!

Go ahead and make it so, Number One! 8)

I saw the movie. I didn't really care for it. I thought the History Channel version was much better. Horrible, horrible day. :( :x
