I live in the city of Bergen:
In normal southwest Norwegian Bergen is: ['bɛχgṇ] In very broad local dialect: ['bæ:ʁgɛn] In the province of Hordaland: [ˇhoχda'lan] In the country of: Norge (Bokmål name): [ˇnoχgə] Noreg (Nynorsk name): [ˇno:ʁeg] In Skandinavia: [ˌskandi:'na:vɪa] In the Nordic countries, Norden: ['nuχdṇ] On the continent of Europa: [æʉ'ʁu:pa] On the Earth, Jorda: ['ju:ʁa] In the World, Verden: ['ʋɛχdṇ] BTW [ˇ] is the Norwegian toneme 2, i.e. approximately stress on both following syllables. I can't IPA (or even see it on my screen), but I live in Las Cruces, which is pronounced either in the English manner (American variety): Las CROOsess, or in the Spanish manner, in which you flip the R. Also nicknamed "The City of the Crosses".

BTW you just need to download and/or upgrade to Explorer 7.0 or Firefox if you want to see the IPA symbols. I got such a kick out of finally being able to IPA!
