Your country's hottest celebrities

Okay, the U.S. has too many to count at the moment, but I think I can say this is France's sexiest star, at least that I know of.

fab

your videop doesn't work
Porthos

You have to register on youtube to see it.
Porthos

OKAY! Gentlemen!! Feast your eyes on France's finest!

*remembers the poll we had on the old LangCafé which seemed to reveal that a majority of males here are actually gay*
Porthos

For real? A majority of men here are gay? What was the tally on that survey? That's funny.
Porthos

And if the men are gay they can post their favorite male celebrity! There's no law against that, lol. At least they'll be participating in the thread.
Fredrik

As I hate the celebreties (and especially those from my own country) you don't get to see them!

Suddenly I remembered that Porthos is a very young man.
I think I liked Alezee better in that fur thing she wore before.....(yeah, just start calling me Baron von Sacher-Masoch!) This pornographic sailor suit was just a little bit too...pornographic!
Porthos

Dude, that shaking butt is sizzling! Baby got back! And what does your comment about my age supposed to mean?
fab

Josh,

If you like Alizée, you may like her :

Hehe, sometimes a word is just a word. I just meant that you have some more hormons than us old guys. (And believe me, the world is more boring with less hormons. Seen from the age of 24, teenagehood seems like a time high on drugs.)

Lol, I think that's true.

Fab,
I must admit I'm developing a taste for the French ladies. It must be the dark features and that sexy Gallic version of Latin which they speak.

Yes, but if you like blondes we also have some

I like very much this actress (Virginie leDoyen). but she is my age, so you may think she's a bit old for you.

her in a clip for a movie about the 40's.

To tell the truth, I'm not that into blondes. I think it's because my family is kind of racist against northern Europeans, so I'm pre-programmed that way, although I'm not racist against them (my father is one). My favorite girls are Latinas and southern Europeans, preferably with darker features. I am strongly attracted to one group of northern Europeans though, and that iis the dark featured women of the British Isles, such as in the pictures I provided in the other thread in the history section.
Porthos

The more I listen to old French songs, the more I hear the acute differences in pronounciation from back then, and today. The 'r' is almost trilled in many cases, and the 's' in "Paris" is pronounced, unlike the French of today.
fab

Quote:
and the 's' in "Paris" is pronounced, unlike the French of today

No, the "s" is not pronounced. In the song you hear a sound "s" after "Paris", just because the next word is "sera" (will be).
Porthos

Oh, okay then.
fab

Alizée and Lorie were two french comercial pop-singers for pre-teenager girls a few years ago; After having what the videos I realized that they both are the same kind of pop-singer but seem to pass for be the opposite; the blond-blue eyed one (a french clone version of Britney spears) sings that she's twenty years old, and the black-haired one sings that she's not twenty...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0kxS28O5toA
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RCwL2nF2OdQ

I think the producers of both would be commercial rivals and fight with their respective lolitas...
Elaine

You boys go right ahead and continue discussing your Gallic pop confections, while I dream about some serious Gallic eye candy...

(I would've posted a link to the "Partir un Jour" video, but my access to You Tube has been disabled here at work).
Porthos

I sincerely hope you are not attracted to French men. They're not know for being the toughest guys in the world, lol.

South African international model Minki van der Westhuizen...

Porthos

Okay, I try to avoid blondes, but I must admit, the heina has a great body. All these pics are making me feel like taking a walk down to my "friends with benefits" buddy's house.

2be3, a Very funny "boys band" of the 90's... I forgotted them !...

From where could you know them Elaine ?!! I have doubts they had been famous in the US once ? And you said you've never been in France... that's strange...

BTW, André, I thought your description (elsewhere in the forum) of Minki as bobotie, yellow rice with raisins, and stewed dried fruit was pretty funny.

She sure is beautiful. And her name is "Minki"?? Sounds like a pet name. Is that a popular Dutch or Afrikaner name?

Well, I actually had the good fortune of meeting one of the guys, Filip, at a party in the Hollywood Hills many years ago, and I was stunned by his beauty... so suffice it to say, I know about them.

It's most probably her noemnaam (call name). Her real name is probably Hermien/Hermi(e)na. Minki (the more usual spelling is Mientjie) is a fairly common Afrikaans name (noemnaam).

Now Porthos, if you like lolitas and want to improve your French :

video of J'ai pas vingt ans
lyrics of J'ai pas vingt ans

Now some French actresses from today and the days before :

Audrey Tautou

Juliette Binoche

Charlotte Gainsbourg

Sandrine Bonnaire

Jeanne Balibar

Fanny Ardant

Nathalie Baye

Isabelle Adjani

Isabelle Huppert

Brigitte Bardot (BB)

Jane Birkin (she's actually English)

Catherine Deneuve

Annie Girardot

Jeanne Moreau

Simone Signoret

Michèle Morgan

Simone Simon
Loic

I do not follow the local/regional celebrity scene closely, but some names cannot escape my attention:

1. Michelle Goh

2. Maggie Q

3. Jaymee Ong

4. Athena Chu
Loic

I like the selection of French celebrities which Greg offered, but I feel that there are better candidates:

1. Judith Godreche

2. Sophie Marceau

3. Eva Green (she's in Casino Royale)

4. Ludivine Sagnier
fab

Photos sympas Greg, je dois admettre un petit faible :

Fredrik

lol, I'm sure she is the doyen of her trade!
Deborah

Now I remember where I saw Virginie Ledoyen -- she played the French girl (what else?) in The Beach.
I always liked Nathalie Baye.
Porthos

You know what, it is tough to say which country has the most beautiful women. It all depends on what you personal preference is. As far as selecting a marriage mate, I don't know who I'll marry. When I was younger, and definitely more naive, I planned on never allowing myself to fall in love with anybody but a Scandanavian type girl, so my kids would be tall! In retrospect, that is lame.

So, what country has the best girls? I say it's impossible. And I can't ever decide what particular ethnic groups have the best looking women, but I think I have a tendency toward southern Europeans and Latin Americans. If I brought home a blond girl, my mom would probably slap me though.

Greg,
I picked up a lot of French from my affair with a certain Quebecois lass that you probably remember me talking about. Unfortunately, I forgot most of it. In fact, she looked almost exactly like this woman, but younger of course.

Judith Godreche
Porthos

I can say with a certainty in my opinion, that Iranians have the best women of the middle east, at least from what I've seen. As long as they wax their staches!
fab

Quote:

And if she is a blond Mexican girl ? Or a blond South European ?
Elaine

I would have to say that Mmes. Morneau, Huppert, and esp. Deneuve are my favorite old-time French actresses, for very different reasons. I don't know too much about the younger ladies.

fab

Quote:

I would say Libanese too. I knew some of them very pretty.
Don't forget that of of the most famous latin-American stars are of Libanese origins : Salma Hayek and Shakira.
Porthos

Well I haven't seen enough lebanese babes to actually make an educated opinion. The ones I've seen had facial hair, other than Salma Hayek, who is outrageously hot, but she is also half Mexican, or half native American or something like that.

My current #1 papi chulo:

Adam Rodriguez from CSI: Miami. I don't really like the show, but I keep tuning in to see if he finally takes off his shirt. Sadly, that hasn't happened yet.
