Wow! Pretty impressive pictures! I've only been to England once when I was a kid, it'd be nice to go there again some time.

I read about the castle before I went to England, and was also told about it by friends who had been there. I arrived in Warwick around five in the afternoon, and the plan was to go and see the castle the next morning, and leave the town afterwards. The castle only opened at ten, so with time to kill, I walked around in the town, fell in love with it, and stayed another day! :) I loved the castle as well, it was well worth the effort to visit it.

Here are some pictures of a small town called Weinheim I visited in Southern Germany, near to Heidelberg. It was very, um... gemütlich.

I went to a game reserve just outside of town on Saturday. Here are some of the pics I took.

Beautiful pictures of the native flora and fauna.

Are all of them taken in your neighbourhood, Andre?

Yes, the first set was taken in a game reserve just out of town. The first bird picture was taken in the garden of the guest house where I'm staying until I move into my new place on Saturday, and the other three was taken in a local garden centre.

Nice pix, André. Is there a guest bedroom at your new place?

They were beautiful!! And I'm sure you were just as elegant (and still is).

It was amazing, they stared at me as if they were wondering what I was doing... so peacefully.

I spent an absolutely fantabulous weekend in Newport Beach and despite the disparaging remarks I've made in the past about the O.C., I must say their beach communities are wonderful!

I stayed at my AMW friend's house that she shares with her fabulously wealthy beau (lucky girl!), and we rode his motorboat around the harbor, circling Balboa Island.

Note: Even though the thread is titled "Your Pictures", these aren't really my pictures since I can't figure out how to retrieve my photos from my phone and send them to my photo album.

About that second picture...was it taken in winter, or are people in Newport Beach just extravagant with their irrigation? (Pretty, though, whatever the reason!)

How far off the mainland is Balboa Island?

That whole region, down to Laguna Beach is a very affluent area so it's green like that all year round.

It's a very long and exhausting trip. I don't know how you managed, Elaine.

Oh...I should have noticed the lack of surf. So how do you get there -- wade?

It's a very nice boat ride nonetheless.

I saw a TV movie (I think that's what it was) once where most of the action takes place on Balboa Island. They showed the people waiting for a ferry to take them over, but there was no indication of how far away it was. And since were scenes on a beach with a surf, I assume they shot it on the part that's just called "Balboa". And if it really was Balboa in that movie, I have to say, it's beautiful.
