And that's the thing - things at least here seem so much more like that associated with northern Europe than southern Europe. People here aren't much like the English per se, and neither do they have little in common with the "Prussian" aspects of northern German culture, but they seem to not be all too different in this kind of way from the Dutch or Scandinavians or the less stern sides of German culture. On the other hand, I can see very little "Latin" at all in the majority culture here;  the urban black culture, though, here in Milwaukee seems to be far more like southern European cultures in this regard, in a way that often results in social friction with white majority culture here. However, much of the US outside the Upper Midwest and New England does seem to be less northern European in character to me at least, but even still such does not seem "Latin" to me at all outside of areas with a significant Latino presence.

That is the thing about the U.S and assuming probably England where you have significant populations of minorities like myself that have assimilated into Northern European like culture that who are not culturally Northern European who basically are in a rock in a hard place in which you just feel like you do not fit in anywhere. Like was posted earlier, I think Latino culture should be left out in the perceptions of culture in the U.S because it is a nouveau culture taking elements of many and creating in their own (or our own so to speak). The United States was created out of Northern European culture in turn evolving into another culture on its own.

And that most definitely applies here, as there are significant minority groups, both black and Latino, which are very culturally distinct from the white majority culture yet the majority culture shows practically zero real influence from them and rather is extremely northern European in character*. Unlike in some areas, there is no sort of a more general "urban" culture here, with even lower class whites in urban areas being very markedly culturally distict from their black or Latino counterparts. Hence the division of society here into very separate blocs is not merely a matter of things like residential segregation and divisions between social classes, but is rather very culturally intrenched in nature here.

* aside from some pockets of remaining unassimilated Italian cultural influence which are distinct from the far more heavily German-influenced (and also Scandinavian-influenced Up North) majority culture.
