Well, this is about the 4th incarnation of Langcafe, which was itself just a spinoff of Antimoon. Sander was one of the "founding" members, I guess you would say, and he was active on Antimoon for a long time as well. But he was only on this latest version of Langcafe for a little while.
Personality-wise, he was little bit volatile and very, very stubborn. He was one of those people who didn't necessarily pick the fights, but he liked to keep them going, no matter how nasty they got. He also liked to bicker (affectionately) with Andre, since he was Dutch and Andre is South African. Belgians were his big pet peeve....
By the way, speaking of Andre, he seems to have succumbed to the Langcafe Site Admin Curse: the minute a member goes to akll the trouble to set up a site, work out the bugs, and get the whole thing rolling, they begin to slowly disappear. Somewhere out there are our long-lost previous administrators: Kirk, Yann (sniff!), Andre.... _________________ An apple a day....

Don't worry, I haven't disappeared, I'm still here, and watching you...
I've just been very busy lately. _________________ Toe ek jonk was, het ek al die antwoorde geken. Nou verstaan ek nie eens die vrae nie.

To say the least... Sander was a jackass. He was ruthless with Pauline, and constantly malicious and sarcastic, and he seldom contributed anything positive to the forum, and as a result, he was banned. Living up to his stubborn nature, he has not returned since, despite his ban being lifted. _________________ Operation Northwoods - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Northwoods

You didn't know him long enough. He had a good side, too. And personally, I can't blame him for the Pauline thing -- by the time she scrammed, she was on my last nerve, jumping up and down. _________________ An apple a day....
Yes, Sander might have unnecessarily provoked conflicts beyond his better judgement, but I feel compelled to step in and add that Porthos's impression does no justice to the real Sander.
I am of the opinion that towards the end of his stay here, Sander did not much care about offending and being offended. It is a shame that he is gone - I have always enjoyed his society. _________________ Hillary Clinton is an acquired taste which I have clearly yet to acquire.
I miss him, too -- he was a lot of fun, sometimes, and he had a way of keeping you on your toes by questioning everything. And I do mean everything! If there was a way to see something commonplace and usually taken for granted in a different light, you could leave it up to Sander to hold it up to scrutiny!
And I miss his bickering with Andre -- they were almost like a married couple sometimes! More like father and son at others.... _________________ An apple a day....

Scrammed? Doesn't that imply that it was voluntary?
I have no idea what the details of her departure were. I know she was being put on detention every other Thursday for a while there, but I can't see Andre making that permanent -- he's a softie. And she wasn't in Gjones league.
