Oui, en un sens c'est vrai. Surtout au niveau "politique" : le débat politique a disparu.

I think it's true, particularly in the US.  The policies of our current administration (scientific, economic, cultural, environmental, educational, international, etc.) have set us back a century or two.

Try living in South Africa, we're too busy coming to grips with the past to worry about the future! Some people are still busy with the 19th century... It could be an election slogan: Vote Party X for a better past!

Seriously though, isn't that the pattern of history, taking a few steps back every now and then before taking more steps forward?

Vote Party X for a better past!  I love it! Seems the only thing you can rely on in the future is a haphazard history. I keep wondering when the world's drama will be interupted for a soap commercial.

The way things are going here, I can only wish for a soap commercial. Jeez... Our president seems to have forgotten which country he is president of, our minister of health is insane.... and still there are millions who are prepared to vote for the current govt in the elections next year....
