In Basque country, the architecture, the climate and even the culture change radically between Spain and France
Bilbao, was a great industrial city (as other north spanish cities), 500000 inhabitants, very dynamic and artistic (Guggenheim museum), and big buidings:
Bayonne was a big city on the middle age, and a strategic place (english gascogne, great port), after the Bayonne physionomy don't change much in Bordeaux or Paris comparisons, the basque architecture and typical houses are very presents.
The climate of the south of the basque country (Navarra, Spain) is radically different compared to the north, the architecture change too, Olite was a great fortress the muslims troops went until the navarra, and they influenced the culture, the south navarra look likes more south spain than basque country.

Ouai, Donosti est une belle ville, élégante et majestueuse, mais aussi dynamique et accueillante, ses tapas y sont célébres, elle a une belle architecture du XIXeme siecle, plusieurs reine d'Espagne s'y sont plus, du fait du doux climat et des stations balnéaire.
A ce titre, St Sébastien est concurencée par Biarritz, autre ville cosmopolite et vivante:
Mais ces 2 villes et en particulier Biarritz ont perdu plus leurs âmes et cultures que les autres villes et villages.
