I've a question for you. I ask you because you know very much about computers.
My computer tell me often there's a message, so I look in the email (mozilla thunderbird) but it's not a new message there. sometimes then it will be in Outlook Express, although this isn't the default one. Also when I press the envelope picture Outlook express open , not the default (Thunderbird). Please can you tell me how to put the default one to the envelope key. Also, where're going this messages? I get a bit panic because i don't know what messages are those or where they are now.

Do you have an e-mail account set up in Outlook Express? If you do, but you don't use Outlook Express, then just delete the account(s) (Go into Outlook Express. Go to the Tools menu, and click on Accounts. Remove any accounts in there). If you have no accounts, make sure there are no messages in the Inbox. Make sure Outlook Express is not your default e-mail client (Tools, Options. At the bottom of the General tab, make sure it says that your application is not the default mail handler).
You should receive mail notifications in Thunderbird whenever it is running. If not, check your Thunderbird settings.
Thank you for the informations. I've deleted the account what was with Outlook express.
But still the envelope when I press this key open Outlook, despite it's not anymore an accoutn or the default one. The same is for the key i this will open IE not the Firefox.
Maybe it's not possible changing those keys? My keyboard has the American International configuration.
Thanks. Sorry, I've noticed this thread discuss completely other things. I wrote here because shouga put a message here when i wanted to ask about this.

You might need to reset your computer so that the changes are shown. Also, it might not be a mail notification icon - just an icon on the toolbar that opens Outlook Express for you.
I'm also not sure what you mean by keys. Are these on your keyboard? Could you explain? What do you mean; pressing the letter 'i' on your keyboard opens IE?

Keys - I mean the things you must press when you type something. The letters, numbers and symbols on the keyboard. The i it's a special one on the back of all the other keys, there're 5 of those special ones: envelope, mirror, i, lock with i and ?. When you press the envelope it open your email, and the i open your internet. My computer is Compaq presario 2100 laptop.
The mail noticifation was a little pop-up at the right side, but since I've asked you there aren't some more. Probably this is resolved.
It's not so important the quetsions now, the problem were those messages, and Outlook express, but this is resloved. Shouga, Thank you very much.

Ah, well I have a special keyboard like that but I don't use it (and I never used the special keys on it anyway). However, you can probably configure these settings if you look in your '(All) Programs' menu for the keyboard driver that your computer runs (this determines the browser/e-mail client that your keyboard runs when you press these 'special' keys). If you can't find it (not sure whether these drivers are integrated or separate...) then you might be able to find and change the settings under Control Panel, under the icon Keyboard. These things may *not* be configurable though, it really depends on the laptop you have.

I've configured them !!!
It's not completely well configured as it tells something about protocol ... but those keys now are directly going to the correct internet / email
Weird thing: i saw, that when I've not visited this forum, then returned, my name was there for logged on, but I was not!!!
